Job description
We currently have a full-time position available for an Auto Body Technician & Painter at our Hartland location.
The Auto Body Technician & Painter is responsible for ensuring quality standards, performs precise work and must exercise patience. The role requires a keen eye for colors, as matching paint colors is extremely important. Cleanliness and attention to detail is important in maintaining a clean workspace, cleaning their tools and providing superior quality of work.
Responsibilities and requirements:
Assess vehicle damage and determine necessary repairs
Remove, replace, or repair damaged body parts and panels using various techniques (e.g., welding, dent removal, refinishing)
Prepare vehicles for painting by removing exterior trims and hardware and ensuring surfaces are smooth and clean
Identify and apply corrosion-resistant primers and topcoats for fiberglass and plastic
Mask and tape for multi-tone work or to protect areas that do not require painting
Apply primers, acrylic enamel, polyurethane, base coat, clear coat, and other types of paint using spray-painting guns
Apply decals, transfers, stencils, specialty refinishing, and detailing
Ensure that all repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Auto Body Technician & Painter or a similar role
Education in automotive painting is an asset
Strong knowledge of collision repair, auto body parts, and vehicle systems
Ability to use a variety of repair tools and equipment
Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Schedule:
9-hour shift
Monday to Friday
