Job description
We are currently looking for a full-time Trailer Body Technician at our Salisbury location.
The involves to repair, rebuild, maintain, and restore commercial trailers in our busy heavy-duty service environment. This is a hands-on position where no two days are exactly the same. You'll work on a variety of commercial trailers and have the opportunity to develop your skills across trailer body repair, welding, fabrication, doors, floors, roofs, suspension components, and general trailer repairs.
Experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with a strong mechanical aptitude, good work ethic, and desire to learn.
Responsibilities and requirements:
Repair and replace trailer body components, including floors, walls, roofs, doors, panels, and structural components
Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication
Repair and rebuild trailer doors, hinges, latches, frames, and other components
Repair damaged trailer bodies and structural components
Perform aluminum and steel repairs and fabrication where required
Install and replace trailer components and accessories
Perform general trailer repairs and preventative maintenance
Assist with repairs to brakes, suspension, lighting, electrical, and other trailer systems when required
Inspect trailers and identify damage, wear, and required repairs
Follow manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards
Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed
Communicate with Service Advisors regarding repairs and additional work required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Work as part of a team to get customer equipment back on the road safely and efficiently
Qualifications:
Red Seal certification or other relevant trade certification is an asset, but not required.
Experience in trailer repair, body work, welding, fabrication, automotive repair, heavy-duty equipment, or a related trade
Welding and fabrication experience is an asset
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and understand measurements and basic technical information
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Good communication and organizational skills
A commitment to safety and quality
A valid driver's license
A willingness to learn new skills and continuously improve
Schedule:
9-hour shift
Monday to Friday
