Job description
We currently have a full-time position available for a Welder Fabricator at our Trailer Shop location in Saint Leonard, NB.
The Welder Fabricator will work on metal forming, bending, and finishing commercial trailers according to project specifications. This job requires physical strength, including heavy lifting, frequent bending, and working in tight spaces.
Responsibilities and requirements:
Perform welding, fabrication, and repair on commercial trailers, including refrigerated units and dry vans
Install, service, and repair roll-up doors and electric/hydraulic liftgates
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to complete work accurately
Measure, cut, bend, and assemble metal components using appropriate tools and equipment
Diagnose mechanical and structural issues; identify repair solutions and potential safety hazards
Execute layout, design modifications, and basic cost estimations for repair or fabrication jobs
Ensure all work meets quality standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Collaborate with team members while also managing tasks independently to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
Proven experience in aluminum welding is required
Experience in commercial trailer fabrication and repair will be considered an asset
Proficiency with MIG welding; TIG welding experience is an asset
Bi-lingual (French/English) is an asset
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Solid understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures
Schedule:
9-hour shift
Monday to Friday
